Zoning change allows Bay State Milling Company to expand in Winona
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — A Winona business is expanding along the city’s riverfront.
Final approval was given Monday night to rezone an area for a new warehouse for Bay State Milling Company.
The building will go where the former Godfather’s Pizza restaurant currently stands.
As part of the project, Bay State also plans to make an addition to a nearby park.
“We’ve looked to partner with the city to put in a riverfront bike trail, we look to improve Levee Park by adding historical storyboards and some artistic work,” said Bay State Milling plant manager Allen Simanovski.
Bay State’s expansion will also allow for additional employees, but exact numbers are not yet known.
Demolition of the former Godfather’s Pizza restaurant at the site is expected to take place by the end of June.
