YWCA accepting applications for Emergency Relief, Community Resiliency Fund
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – YWCA La Crosse and YWCA USA are partnering with The Coca-Cola Foundation to offer grants for local community or individual projects and programs and non-profit organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The total available through the partnership is $25,000.
“We are grateful to our local communities who have continued to support the YWCA La Crosse and our programs at a time when we have been unable to host the majority of our annual fundraisers,” said Lauren Journot, YWCA La Crosse Executive Director. “This opportunity from the Coca-Cola Foundation will bring much-needed funds and support to other local individuals and organizations who work alongside us to eliminate racism and empower womxn – we’re thrilled to be able to support others doing such incredible work in our community.”

Recipients will be recognized at a virtual event in November.
Grand funds can be awarded to support (but are not limited to) the following:
- Gas, food or supplies for low-income workers and families who have been laid off as a result of COVID-19;
- Cash assistance, such as rent, mortgage or other costs with attaining/maintaining employment for those laid off as a result of COVID-19;
- Unexpected programmatic expenses, such as sheltering individuals and families in hotels or alternate locations due to COVID-19 social distancing and quarantine guidelines per state;
- Staff safety and site hygiene to ensure the procurement of appropriate disinfecting and hygiene supplies.
