Youth ambassador named for Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The youth ambassador was introduced for this year’s Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival.
Madysen Ryan received this year’s honor.
Ryan goes to Terry Erickson Boys an Girls Club on La Crosse’s northside.
The festival supports Mayo Clinic Health System’s Center for Breast Cancer, along with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse.
Ryan says there are a lot of the festival that is worth experiencing in the boat and on the shore.
“I’ve done the thing now for two years now, I was in the boat twice and it’s hard, but you learn a lot about yourself and you learn a lot about working with other people and it’s a lot of fun,” said Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival youth ambassador Madysen Ryan.
The button design for this year’s Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival was also unveiled at the event.
The Festival takes place June 22nd at La Crosse’s Copeland Park.
