Young girl encounters ‘random act of kindness’ in Onalaska

A three-year-old learned how to “pay it forward” and spread compassion Thursday at Festival Foods in Onalaska.

Our WKBT News8000 Facebook fan Ashley Rector told us her daughter found a baggie filled with quarters and other change taped to the side of a frozen meat display at Festival Foods. A note on the bag read, “Please enjoy this random act of kindness.”

Her daughter asked if she could have a quarter to buy a bag of Cheetos. Ashley said yes, but only one. They then added a dollar to the bag.

“Oh, so the next person can have it to buy something,” her daughter responded.

“Thank you to whoever left it there in the first place,” Ashley said. “You made my daughter’s day!”

And she learned how to pay it forward in our compassionate community. #CompassionLivesHere
