Young boulevard trees need to be watered
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Recently planted trees in La Crosse need your help.
The more than one- thousand trees planted along city streets are in need of water.
The little amount of rain we’ve had has increased the stress on the trees.
Young trees are more likely to be impacted by a lack of water.
Even if you haven’t been watering a tree this summer, it’s not too late to start.
“Just continuing with the watering a lot of them will come back next spring. Some will not, some will yes in fact it is too late, but still give every effort you can to try and the trees alive,” Dan Trussoni, La Crosse Parks and Forestry Supervisor.
Once the temperatures drop in the fall, the trees only need to be watered twice a week.
