Overnight storms knocked out power to about 225,000 customers in WI and MN
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) — Overnight storms in Minnesota and Wisconsin left about 225,000 customers without power Saturday morning.
Xcel Energy crews have been working through the night and have restored power to 92,000 people. However, about 4,700 customers in Wisconsin are still without power. Xcel Energy says most of the people without power are in the Chippewa Valley area.
Xcel Energy said crews will work throughout the day to restore service as quickly as possible.
Xcel Energy warns customers to stay away from downed power lines and call 1-800-895-1999 to report it immediately.
