Work for La Crosse’s Memorial Pool to start
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Renovations will begin soon for La Crosse’s Memorial Pool.
Work on the renovation of the 80 year old pool will begin next week.
The facility closed in 2016 because the pool was leaking more than 7,000 gallons of water a day.
Approved by Historic Preservation Commission, the renovated pool will combine modern designs with historic features.
“We’re going to keep the facade, the yellow tile was also kind of a sticking point for them and we’re able to keep a majority of that on the inside of the building,” Jay Odegaard, Superintendent of Recreation and Park Facilities with the City of La Crosse.
Renovations for the pool are expected to be completed in early June next year.
