Work continues on downtown School District of La Crosse building
Building will house the 7 Rivers High School and La Crosse Design Institute
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Work is continuing on a new space for the School District of La Crosse.
The renovation of the former ‘Brickhouse’ bar at the corner of Fifth Avenue and King Streets wrapped up Wednesday.
Now crews will begin moving furniture into the building.
When completed, it will house the La Crosse Design Institute and 7 Rivers High School.
District officials are happy to see the project come to reality.
“When you start in, you look at the building, it’s over 100 years old, the main building 1905. And so when you look at the building when we came through, you really had to have a vision of what it would look like. And I think it has really met our vision. Contractors, architects did a wonderful job,” said School District of La Crosse Supervisor Buildings and Grounds Joe Ledvina.
The current spaces for the schools will be used to add meeting space and additional learning spaces.
