Work coming for La Crosse harbor and boat landings, Riverside Park band shell
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A lot of work is still in store for La Crosse’s municipal harbor and boat landings.
The La Crosse Board of Park Commissioners met Thursday night to learn more about the current and future projects for those areas.
A representative from Coulee Region Services LLC, which the City contracted for this work, says they are still working on water and security systems for the harbor along with a restroom facility. The company also talked about the future of those areas, including a campground, gazebos and disability-friendly fishing piers.
“We’re on the Mississippi River. it is an extremely great recreational facility, fishing facility, and we need launch ramps that are conducive to helping folks recreate,” said Gary Thurk from the Coulee Region Services LLC.
The Parks Board also talked about the Riverside Park Band Shell project. Now, the group needs to ensure the Shell is completely free standing and separate from the Stand itself.
The department expects to shut down the Band Stand after Riverfest to begin construction of the Shell.
