Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse hosts drive through ceremony
Since the group's inception, the Fund has awarded nearly $700,000 in grants to local programs and agencies
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – While many events have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, others are finding innovative ways to make sure their events still happen.
The Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse hosted a drive-through ceremony for their grant recipients.
The group is issuing 71 thousand dollars during the drive-through ceremony, bringing the total for the year to over 83 thousand dollars.
The Women’s Fund was founded in 1998 with the goal of supporting projects that benefit women and girls.
Since the group’s inception, the Fund has awarded nearly $700,000 in grants to local programs and agencies.
“The work of the Women’s Fund wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of hundreds of both women and men throughout the years. And we’re just so grateful to be able to do the work we’re doing” said Executive Director Kaycie Green.
Some organizations that will be receiving grants are New Horizons Shelter and Outreach Center, the YWCA, and the salvation army.
