Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse awards more than $80k to local nonprofits
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse is awarding more than $80,000 dollars to 21 nonprofits dedicated to the current needs of local women and girls.
The organization presented those grants Thursday at their office in La Crosse.
Each of the nonprofits received between $1,000 and $10,000 to help them continue to offer women access to things like education, healthcare, housing, and transportation.
“Programs anywhere from a New Horizons, who provide shelter and safe spaces for women are victims of violence, anywhere to educations for young girls,” said Sarah Ellingson, executive director of the Women’s Fund.
Since 1998, the Women’s Fund has granted more than $800,000 dollars to local organizations for women.
