Women’s Fund fall luncheon highlights career options for women

Women in trades like manufacturing and construction are being highlighted at an annual event in La Crosse.

The Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse’s annual fall luncheon was Wednesday.

The event raises funds for grants that support organizations throughout our community.

This year’s keynote speaker was one of the first women in the country of Trinidad selected to pursue a career in plumbing

She says there is a lot of opportunity for women to consider a career path that may traditionally be thought of being for men.

“One of the best and most important reasons is the money, you make a lot of money being a trades person in America and also it’s a great opportunity if you love being outdoors,” said Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse Fall Luncheon keynote speaker, Judaline Cassidy.

Last year, 28 grants were funded by Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse events like the Fall Luncheon.
