Women build a home in La Crosse
Habitat for Humanity house built as part of national movement
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A construction project in La Crosse is bringing a community of women closer together.
A Habitat for Humanity house is primarily being built by women. It’s part of a national movement and started as part of National Women Build Week.
One organizer says pitching in can add a personal touch and pride to their community.
“It’s personal. I mean, you feel personally connected to what you’re doing in the community, you are personally attached to your neighborhood, to what you brought and to the people, to your neighbors,” said Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Coordinator Amanda Fehr.
From now through around September groups of women will be working with Habitat for Humanity on a variety of home projects.
