Wisniewski begins rookie minicamp alongside Packers’ draft picks
Sparta and UW-Whitewater grad Ryan Wisniewski suited up alongside the likes of second-round pick Christian Watson Friday afternoon for the first day of Packers rookie minicamp.
The wide receiver Wisniewski is in camp on a tryout basis, running drills with other undrafted players and 2022 draft selections.
Wisniewski has to battle to potentially earn a contract, while the NDSU grad Watson is already considered to be an impactful part of the passing game when the regular season arrives. Watson, however, wants to start offseason camp with a mindset that nothing will be handed to him.
“There’s a lot of guys who have been doing it for a long time and have a lot of knowledge to pass down, and Aaron at QB, there’s a lot to learn from everybody in the offense,” Watson said. “I’m, really just excited to learn and grow and see how much of a step I can take at this next level learning from those guys.”
Rookie minicamp continues on Saturday. Tryout players like Wisniewski are not made available to the media in Green Bay.
