WisCorps volunteers to support community organizations
WisCorps recently received a $12,022 grant
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – WisCorps is working to help the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A disaster relief crew is working with several community partners.
Among the tasks, the crew is serving meals at the Salvation Army, preparing for spring planting at the Kane Street Community Garden and clearing flood debris in two local parks.
To support their efforts, WisCorps was recently awarded a $12,022 grant from the La Crosse Area Emergency Response Fund.
“Part of what we do is help conservation, but with conservation projects, but also help the community. So that’s what we’re doing with this grant,” said WisCorps education director Stephanie Hanna.
Other projects will help the La Crosse County Health Department, Hunger Task Force, Catholic Charities and the Neighborhood Associations of La Crosse.
