WisCorps to offer new ‘Nature School Day Camps’ for kids ages four to six
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A unique learning experience is just one adventure away.
WisCorps is starting up a three-week ‘Nature School Day Camps’ at the Myrick Park Center.
Kids between ages four and six can take part.
The camp goes from September 14th through October 12th and has a different theme each week.
Through games, activities, and crafts kids will learn about science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).
Plus, most of their day will be spent outdoors.
The program doesn’t replace virtual schooling but adds to what they’re already learning in the classroom.
“We thought it would be a good thing to give kids an outlet to get outside and get away from screens, and hopefully parents have a little bit of a break,” said Stephanie Hanna, WisCorps Environmental Education Manager.
Kids will meet in small groups and practice COVID-19 safety measures including wearing masks, frequent hand washing, and social distancing.
The camp will be held Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 in the morning and from 12:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon.
Registration opens Wednesday morning at eight and limited spots are available.
