Wisconsin sets new grim COVID-19 records, La Crosse reports 1 new death

Eau Claire County reports four new deaths

MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin Department of Health Services Tuesday reported the state again saw a record number of COVID-19 deaths, including one in La Crosse County and four from Eau Claire County.

DHS reported that 66 Wisconsinites died of the virus since Monday’s update and 7,073 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed, bringing the statewide total to 2,395 lives lost and 278,843 infected.

An increase of 291 people were hospitalized Tuesday and 214,469 people have recovered.

In La Crosse, one person died and 91 were confirmed to have the virus, bringing the total number of cases to 5,626 since the pandemic started.

New local cases include:

Four people under age 9;

10 people aged 10-19;

21 people in their 20s;

14 people in their 30s;

Seven people in their 40s;

10 people in their 50s;

11 people in their 60s;

10 people in their 70s;

Three people in their 80s; and,

One person older than 90.

Eau Claire County reported four deaths, bringing its total to 35, and 92 new cases. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Eau Claire is 5,223.
