Wisconsin home prices up, while number of homes listed falls
La Crosse area homes are selling for as much as 15 percent over listing price
LA CROSSE COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) – The average price of a Wisconsin home is up nearly ten percent compared to a year ago.
The average home is selling for $235,000.
And the number of homes sold is up 14.6 percent.
But the number of listings is down by nearly 30 percent.
Realtors say this sellers market could stick around for a while.
“I don’t think the market will balance itself out quite a while yet. There’s just so many buyers compared to how many listings and sellers there are on the market. I think it’ll be six months, a year, maybe two years,” said La Crosse Area Realtors Association president Kent Gabrielsen.
