Wisconsin DOC suspends admissions into state prisons, juvenile facilities

MADISON, Wis. (WKBT)–Officials within the Wisconsin Department of Corrections have announced that all admissions to state prisons and juvenile facilities operated by the DOC will be suspended starting Monday.

The announcement does allow for some essential transfers according to the DOC.

The decision comes in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DOC will continue to monitor the situation, and modify the admissions as necessary.
