Wisconsin Court of Appeals hears arguments in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin’s Court of Appeals is teaching the La Crosse community the appeals process by hearing an actual case.
Three judges from the District 4 Court of Appeals heard arguments in La Crosse Thursday. It’s a part of the Wisconsin court system’s outreach and education program which aims to make the courts more accessible to everyone.
“Members of the public come in, and I think there were a few members of the public, and we’re always happy to have them see what we do and how we ask questions and hear arguments and have an interchange with the lawyers,” said Wisconsin Court of Appeals Justice Michael Fitzpatrick.
The justices heard arguments in the case of a local woman who argues an insurance company did not cover all of the damages and medical expenses after a car crash.
