Wisconsin breaks one-day record for new coronavirus cases
738 positive cases are being reported by the state's Department of Health Services
(WKBT) – The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is reporting 738 new cases of the coronavirus Saturday, breaking the record for most positive cases in one day.
The previous record was set on May 29 with 733.
6,822 total tests were reported Saturday, with 10.8 percent of those coming back positive.
Nineteen more people are hospitalized, bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 3,574.
No new deaths are being reported. The statewide total is 796.
There are now a total of 31,055 total cases throughout the state. 24,491 people have recovered, which is about 79 percent of all cases.
The La Crosse County Health Department is not releasing any updates in recognition of Independence Day. Its next update will be on Monday. The county currently has 482 total confirmed cases, with 228 of those cases considered active. One person in La Crosse County is hospitalized. 254 people have recovered.
