Winter clothing drive underway in La Crosse
Donations can be delivered to the 'Washburn Corner' building on La Crosse's south side
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A winter clothing drive is underway ahead of colder weather.
The La Crosse Police Department and Mayo Clinic Health System are helping organize the drive.
Community members can donate weekdays at the ‘Washburn Corner’ building.
It is at the corner of 10th and Ferry Streets in La Crosse.
Donations will be distributed to those in need by Washburn neighborhood resource officers, nearby schools and social workers.
“Clothing actually goes to any who is in need in our community. It’s not just specifically for those who are suffering from homelessness. It’s also going to be going to families in the area who either need jackets or clothing for their kids or for just members of their household as well,” said La Crosse Police officer Dustin Darling.
The two-week drive runs through December 18th.
Anyone dropping off donations should wash any used clothing.
All donations should be dropped of in a sealed plastic bag.
Detail about drive, along with what is needed for the drive, is available on the La Crosse Police Department’s Facebook page.
