Winter Awareness Week begins Monday

Be prepared for conditions that could impact travel, and make sure you have emergency kits in your car and your house

LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – Monday marks the beginning of Winter Awareness Week in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin winters can bring beautiful snowfalls and great opportunities for outdoor recreation.

They can also result in dangerously cold temperatures and hazardous driving conditions.

Between 2015 and 2019, the Wisconsin DOT reported that an average of 43 people were killed and over four thousand were injured each year in crashes on icy or snow-covered roads.

Be prepared for conditions that could impact travel, and make sure you have emergency kits in your car and your house.
