Winona winter carnival gets a boost with $5,000 donation
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — It’s going to be a cold one in Winona for the city’s annual Winter Carnival, but it’s not stopping one group from jumping into ice cold water for a good cause.
The Winona Masons gave the Winona “Park-N-Rec” a 5 thousand dollar check this afternoon for the “Goose Bump Jump.”
The leap into icy waters benefits the community’s Park and Rec scholarships for those in need.
“It’s a good way to get out and connect with people, and so many organizations and businesses here in town have spent a lot of time and put a lot of really creative energy into putting on some super fun events,” said Lisa Gernand from the city’s park and recreation department.
The jump starts at noon Saturday, but if you haven’t registered yet, you can sign up until 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
