Winona State celebrates spring graduates

Ceremonies included the ringing of the new Commencement Bell

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) – Some Winona State students are celebrating the end of a journey today on campus.

A pair of ‘name reading ceremonies’ were held this morning at WSU as graduates are marking the end of the degree path.

Nearly 1,200 graduates are celebrating commencement.

Following the ceremony, students gathered on campus for the inaugural ringing of the University’s new ‘Commencement Bell’.

After more than a year of change. students are thrilled to be able to celebrate.

“We all struggled in the last year or so. But I think being able to celebrate here in-person was fantastic,” said WSU doctorate of nursing practice graduate Lydia Lazzara.

Family members were able to watch a live stream of the commencement from WSU’s football stadium.
