Winona long-term care home added to list of facilities with confirmed COVID-19 cases
WINONA (WKBT)– Sauer Health Care in Winona is among the senior living or other long-term care homes where residents or staffers have tested positive for COVID-19.
That’s according to a list of 32 facilities released this weekend by the Minnesota Department of Health. The list is only for facilities with 10 or more residents.
In a statement on Facebook, Sauer Health Care said there were two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the facility. It indicated that two residents tested positive.
“Thank you to Winona Health for your quick response to get our residents tested. We are working closely with the residents’ physicians. We appreciate the guidance and support from the MN [D]epartment of [H]ealth,” the statement said.
Cases at long-term care facilities account for 4% of all cases in Minnesota, according to the state Department of Health.
