Winona Kwik Trip reaches $1 million in lottery sales

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) – A Winona Kwik Trip store has reached a sales milestone.

Store #824 on Broadway Street joins 21 other retailers that sold $1 million in Minnesota lottery tickets during the last fiscal year.

In 2021, the Minnesota Lottery returned a record $188.8 million dollars to the state.

“The major place that it goes to is the environmental natural resources trust fund, which is money that is set aside to fund environmental projects across the entire state of Minnesota that normally wouldn’t get funded through general funding,” said Steve Addabbo, the state sales manager of the Minnesota State Lottery.

Money from the lottery also funds schools, as well as public health and safety programs.
