Winona High School students hosted language fair for elementary students

WSHS Spanish Honor Society and German classes organized the event

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) – Winona Senior High School (WSHS) students held their first World Language Fair for elementary students today.

Students from the Spanish Honor Society and German Classes at Winona High held the fair at Goodview and Jefferson Elementary schools.

WSHS Spanish teacher Susan Larsen said the students worked hard on their language stations since mid-December, and were excited to share them with students in the elementary schools.

Games in were played in multiple languages, such as Simon Says – or Simón dice en español and Simon sagt auf Deutsch. The students made name tags in both languages and watched a bilingual puppet show.

Five levels of both Spanish and German are offered at WSHS.

Winona Area Public Schools offer a Spanish immersion program at the elementary and middle school levels.
