Winona Health to offer Hands Only CPR workshops

Free event to be held Saturday, October 11

Winona Health will offer free workshops to teach people Hands Only CPR on Saturday, October 11.

Winona Health ICU nurse Helen Bagshaw will lead the workshop to show people how to help someone having sudden cardiac arrest.

Bagshaw said Hands Only CPR training is easy and involves two steps:

Call 911
Push hard and fast in center of chest to the beat of the 1970’s disco-era song, “Staying Alive”

All ages 12 and older are welcome. Those under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  You can sign up for one of these half-hour workshops (limited to 12 people per session):

9:00 – 9:30 a.m. 9:45 – 10:15 a.m. 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. 11:15 – 11:45 a.m. 12:00 – 12:30 p.m. 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. 1:45 – 2:15 p.m. 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. 3:15 – 3:45 p.m.

The workshops will be held at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Avenue in the B.A. Miller Auditorium. Space is limited, so you’re encouraged to RSVP for a specific time by Thursday, October 9 by calling  (507) 457-4161.
