Winona County confirms 4 positive COVID-19 cases

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) – Today, the Minnesota Department of Health is reporting four confirmed cases in Winona County.

The information was published on the MDH website Thursday morning.

Winona County Health and Human Services are working with MDH and health care partners to address the needs of these patients and provide guidance to others who may have contact with them. If an individual of the public has been in direct contact with anyone confirmed to have COVID-19 they will be contacted by someone from the MDH.

Winona County Health & Human Services would like to stress again the importance of continuing to do the things that can limit the spread of the coronavirus:

  • Stay home and away from others if you are sick
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or tissue
  • Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water
  • Avoid touching your face.

The total number of positive cases in the state is 346 with the total approximate number of completed tests being 12,950.

According to the website, two patients have died from the virus.
