Winona County confirms 11th positive case of COVID-19

CNN Poll: Americans divided over government handling of coronavirus outbreak

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) – The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) confirmed the eleventh positive case of COVID-19  in Winona County.

The individual is in their seventies, isolating and recovering. Winona County Health and Human Services are working with MDH and health care partners to address the needs of this patient and provide guidance to others who may have contact with them. If an individual of the public has been in direct contact with anyone confirmed to have COVID-19, someone from the MDH will contact them.

Testing supplies for COVID-19 are in short supply, and therefore only specific populations can receive testing when they have symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath.  These targeted populations are healthcare workers, family members of healthcare workers, people that require hospitalization, and people that live or work in congregate settings such as nursing homes. If you do develop these symptoms and do not qualify for testing, please contact your primary care clinic or hospital for information about self-quarantine.
