Winona boys swimming has strong first day at Class A state
Winona boys swim and dive put together a strong prelim showing on Friday at the Class A state swim championships.
In the 100 free, future Buckeye Jack Herczeg set a new state record of 44.62 seconds. He also had the top time in the 200 free.
Herczeg also helped the 200 free relay team set a new school record along of 1:25.64 with Alex Jorgenson, Grant Wolner, and Tanner Lozinski.
Wolner also set himself up with the third-best prelim time in the 200 IM. He also broke the 100 fly school record with a time of 50.02 seconds.
Class A finals begin at noon Saturday.
