Winner of 2018 Congressional Art Competition announced
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Representative Ron Kind was at UW-La Crosse Sunday to announce the winner of the 2018 Congressional Art Competition.
The winner of this year’s art competition is Hannah Butt’s of La Farge high school with her work titled “A Friend to All, an Enemy to None.”
At the reception held Sunday at UWL’s fine arts center…representative Kind announced the winner and honored all the participants.
Kind says days like Sunday remind us how important creativity and arts programs are.
“It gives you great faith and confidence about the future of our country and the status of the arts and music and culture in our daily lives,” said Rep. Ron Kind.
The first place artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol for a year along with the works of other student artists across the country.
