‘Wind and Percussion Day’ lets student learn about opportunities at UWL
This was the inaugural year of the event
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Student musicians are learning new skills during an inaugural event at UWL.
The ‘Wind and Percussion Day’ was hosted on campus Monday.
The event is a continuation of a woodwind and brass day that the school had hosted in previous years.
Students were given the chance to learn about career opportunities in music and meet other student musicians.
The hope is to help prepare the musicians for the next step in the educational journey.
“Without experiencing this, you don’t what life is like beyond high school, because if you don’t go to colleges and you don’t go to stuff like this, then it’s like you get to college and you’re like ‘Now what,’ said G-E-T senior Emily Cook.
A little more than one hundred students from 11 schools were on hand for the event.
