Two injured in buggy vs. truck crash in Monroe County

TOWN OF WILTON (WKBT) — Two people were injured  Sunday after a truck crashed into a horse-drawn buggy, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Ida Yoder, 18, of rural Wilton is in critical condition at a local hospital.

The crash happened at 10:05 p.m. Sunday on Hwy. 71 near London Avenue in the town of Wilton. Investigators say Mike Breidenbach, 34, Ontario, was driving west when he struck the buggy occupied by Yoder and 20-year-old John Miller.

Miller was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both lanes of traffic were closed on Hwy 71 for almost an hour due to the crash. The crash is still under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Kendall Fire Department, Wilton Ambulance, and Tomah Ambulance.
