William R “Bill” Bray

William R. “Bill” Bray, 69, of Onalaska, WI died on Friday, September 16, 2022 at his home following a battle with cancer. He was born on February 28, 1953 in Lincoln, Nebraska to John and Jacqueline (Brom) Bray. He married Kathy Korupp on June 5, 1976 in Rochester, Minnesota.
Bill had a long career as a HR manager and General Manager for many companies. He worked for Pace Dairy, Kroger, Railroadmen’s Bank, Pepsi Co. of La Crosse, Holiday Wholesale, and most recently his fun retirement job at Festival Foods.
Bill was the 2003 Riverfest Commodore, and was active in the Riverfest Commodore Foundation, and their activities. He was a past member of the Dawson Jaycees, Valley View Rotary Club, La Crosse County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and La Crosse Area YMCA Board of Directors. He was an active member of the St. Patrick’s Parish having served on the church council and as a lector for many years. He was also active with Rotary Lights.
Bill is survived by his wife Kathy of Onalaska; two daughters Jessica (Frank) Abnet of DePere, WI and Michelle (Scott) Beahm of Onalaska, WI; three grandchildren: Brennen Abnet, Rylee Beahm and Reese Abnet; Three siblings: Jim (Pat) Bray of Florida, Mary Jo (Red) Thompson of Minnesota, and Elizabeth Bray of California and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and best friend, Owen Olesen.
A visitation will start at 9:30 until the memorial mass that will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska, WI. Fr. Aaron Becker and Deacon Frank Abnet will officiate.
