WIAA to discuss fall sports in meeting Thursday

The WIAA will hold a business meeting Thursday morning to address the fall sports season and the recent proposal to push fall sports to spring 2021, and spring sports to the summer.

That proposal, as we reported last week, comes from the southwest region of Wisconsin from schools in CESA 3, who made the suggestion as an alternative to the prospect of no fall sports at all.

The WIAA’s meeting comes at a key juncture, because the Big 8 Conference, made up of all the Madison-area high schools, said Tuesday they are cancelling all fall conference games.

The WIAA has said numerous times this summer that they will do everything they can to provide state tournaments for schools wanting to play in the coming season.
