Western Technical College welcomes students back to campus with new president
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse’s Western Technical College is starting a new year with new leadership.
Western’s new president Roger Stanford began the school year welcoming students back to campus. Stanford and other Western staffers wore ‘Ask Me’ aprons to give new and returning students easy access to campus information.
Stanford was hired as the new president after Lee Rasch announced he was retiring at the end of the last school year.
Stanford says it is an honor to serve a growing campus like Western.
“And it’s just really neat meting all these kids and talking to them and knowing there’s a job for every single one of them if they finish. So my message is, ‘Good morning, but come back every day, because then you’re going to finish and you’re going to make a difference,'” said Stanford.
The University of Wisconsin La Crosse also began classes Tuesday.
