Western Technical College students make big donation to Toys for Tots

LA CROSSE, Wis.–  Western Technical College students are getting into the spirit of the season by getting involved with the La Crosse Jaycees’ Toys for Tots drive.

Western’s Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technician program students held a drive to collect ‘diesel themed’ children’s toys again this year.   Things like tractors and dump trucks.

And who knows, maybe these diesel-related toys will give kids an idea for their future careers.   “Being a little kid, watching the big stuff, playing with the little, wanting to be like the guys driving the big stuff and fixing it.  Watching smiles on little kids faces just like we had when we were kids gives us the warm and fuzzies,” says Elliot Breeser.

In all, students gathered more than $1,400 worth of toys this year.
