Western Technical College in La Crosse gears up seventh- through ninth-graders for automotive careers

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Students in seventh through ninth grades geared up for automotive careers during Western Technical College Nitro X Summer Camp this week.

On Friday, Western hosted a race so students could test drive the remote-control vehicles they built this week.

“The RC cars compared to the real cars is obviously a big difference,” said camper Andrew Ames. “There are some factors that can kind of help you with stuff, such as the gas usage and the mechanical parts inside of it.”

Students also explored career opportunities in the automotive industry and many businesses in the area.
