Western students start new tech support desk

We’ve all had headaches dealing with computers. Now some local college students are willing to help.

Computer support specialist students at Western Technical College are now offering a tech support help desk.

It’s part of a second-year class at Western giving the students some experience in troubleshooting various computer problems and customer service.

“It builds a little success. Hands on, real-life situations, dealing with angry customers, frustrated customers, it’s all real life,” said Western IT instructor Cindy Prindle.

The help desk is located in the Business Education Center on the Western campus. It’s open to anyone in the community and is available between 10 a.m. and noon on Mondays, 8 a.m. and noon on Wednesdays, and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Fridays. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged.
