Westby to host anti-bullying, drug use and suicide presentation Thursday

The Westby community will learn how a student’s choices could lead to bullying, drug-use and suicide.

The school is hosting a community presentation later this week, featuring well-known high school presenter Marc Mero. The Thursday presentations will focus on how people can make life choices and confronting bullying, drugs and suicide.

“Choices that he has made, choices that he’s seen that students are making in today’s society he feels as though are mistakes. high schools and middle schools are occurrences for those mistakes to happen. It’s a matter of how we handle those mistakes and help students make better choices with their thought process,” said Westby High School Principal Bob Buthe.

The “Champion of Choices” event will open to the community this Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. You can find it at the Westby Area Performing Arts Center.

Mero will host a private event for high schoolers earlier that day.
