West Salem to celebrate June Dairy Days for 52nd year
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) – June is dairy month and the West Salem community is ready to celebrate.
The 52nd annual June Dairy Days celebration starts Friday, June 3, and runs through June 5.
West Salem student Ava Jambois created this year’s button. Her design is of a cow with heart-shaped glasses, holding two ice cream cones.
“I just thought it would be a fun, kind of silly design. Because it’s kind of goofy looking and I thought it would be fun to draw,” explains Jambois.
The pandemic had forced festival organizers to make some changes, but this year some fan favorites will be back.
“We’ll have pork sandwiches again. The ice cream tent will be open with scooped ice cream this year, so it’s back to normal, ” says past president Jeanne Bahr.
June Dairy Days is held at Village Park. The parade is at noon Saturday. There’s a car show on Sunday
