West Salem students gathering donations to support fellow students, community

120 students and families have signed up for help.

WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) – The season of giving has students in West Salem finding ways to help those in their school and in the community.

The high school plays host to a giving tree again this year.

120 students and families have signed up for help.

Students are collecting money to make those wishes come true.

“It’s so need that we’re able to serve them. And we may not know if it’s the kid sitting next to us in class. And we’re able to make a difference in their families lives,” said West Salem senior Molly Roberts.

Over at West Salem Middle school, students are working with the West Salem Lions Club to provide holiday food baskets to families and senior citizens.

The effort hopes to gather more than 40 boxes to top last year’s total.
