West Salem staff members deliver gifts to students

Staff delivered gifts to 1,800 students

WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) – Some local kids got a special treat to help kick off their winter break.

Staff from the West Salem School District hopped on buses to play Santa Claus.

They stopped at the homes of all 1,800 district students to drop off small gifts.

While the kids got the gifts, staff got something special too.

“As we go into the holidays with the way this year has been, it’s just to show a little bit of happiness, a little bit of kindness. And to let the students know that we miss you, we’re looking forward to seeing you again. And we want you to have a great holiday season,” said West Salem School District board member Sean Gavaghan.

The kids got some candy canes and other small items.

And teachers will get to see students soon.

Students will return to their buildings beginning January 4th.
