West Salem schools staying virtual through winter break

WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT)- The West Salem School District will continue with its online mode of learning through winter break on January 3rd.

In a letter to families, the district superintendent says, “In talking with our local health care experts, the numbers this week are a reflection of one to two weeks ago. This does not encompass deer hunting or the Thanksgiving holiday. There is an uptick in cases over the next few weeks in part due to hunting and the holiday. This extension of the online learning model is not something that we wanted to do, but it will provide for better planning on childcare and other necessities for our families.”

The district will communicate the mode of learning beyond January 3rd on Wednesday, December 23rd.
