West Salem businesses, organizations take part in ‘Trunk-or-Treat’

A different kind of Halloween celebration popped out of a few booths in West Salem!

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department hosted a ‘Trunk-or-Treat’ event Wednesday afternoon at Village Park. Businesses and organizations were welcome to set up inside the park to take part in the downtown Trick-or-Treating hours.

Groups set up with games and events, and of course lots of Halloween candy!

“This is just a way to include those businesses that aren’t located down here. Also, it’s just a safe environment for them, for kids, to come and Trick-or-Treat, getting them off the streets and kinf of in a more centralized location,” said West Salem Parks and Recreation Department Assistant Director Cierra Wannemuehler.

16 businesses and organizations took part in West Salem’s 6th annual ‘Trunk-or-Treat.’
