West Avenue work focused on King Street intersection
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The project on West Avenue at the King and Badger street intersections is focused on the King Street intersection.
Both intersections have been down to one lane of traffic at various times in the last month as the city works on the crossings. The project aims to improve safety for people crossing the street and bicycle traffic.
The last step for both intersections will be to install Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) crosswalk similar to Pine Street to create a visual warning to motorists on West Avenue of a waiting pedestrian or bicyclist.
It’s on schedule to finish up by Sept. 13.
