Website to help with COVID-19 concerns has seen 92,000 visitors in five months

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) –Lots of people are still struggling as a result of the pandemic.  A local company is on the forefront of helping people throughout the state going through tough times.

In April, the Weber Group helped launch Riverside Corporate Wellness. The goal was to help Wisconsinites get access to help and information regarding COVID-19.

“The volumes are high and they continue to be high,” said Don Weber.  “These are very challenging times.”

The website has had almost 92,000 visits over the five month span.

“Over 3,000 visits, that was on a peak day,” said Weber.

The site and calls have transformed into more than Weber anticipated.

“Almost a quarter of the calls, they’re not calling about, or asking questions about symptoms or a family member, it’s anxiety,” said Weber.

The calls have evolved to the struggles people are experiencing as a result of the pandemic..

“I don’t know how I’m going to pay my rent, or my mortgage next month… I don’t know if I’m going to get my job back… My children are at home I can’t work… There’s just a lot of anxiety out there because there’s so many unknowns,” said Weber.

And the calls are coming in the middle of the night.

“Between 1 A.M and 4 A.M. When people can’t sleep and they’re worried,” said Weber.

According to Weber, about 62% of calls are from females, and 38% of calls are from males. When it comes to age, the highest volume is coming from those ages 25 to 34.

Weber says the data serves as a reminder that many people are still struggling, but they’re seeking help.
