High Today: 76F / Low Tonight: 62F - Last updated Friday, June 14, 2019 at 7:20 AM...
Good Friday to you! Some of us are waking up to sunshine today, while others are seeing some showers and thundershowers. The chance of rain will be with us throughout the day, but the best chance of showers and thunderstorms will be north and east of La Crosse. A few thunderstorms this evening in the Chippewa Valley could be strong, so if you're in that area make sure to remain weather aware. Winds are picking up from the south and southwest this morning, and we could see gusts up to 35 mph later today. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s.
We'll continue to see rain chances tonight with lows in the low 60s.
Unfortunately, showers and storms will be a good bet for Saturday. The morning hours look to be the driest at this point with a few light, scattered showers. However, the moisture and coverage of the rain will pick up during the afternoon and evening for the entire area. So your Saturday won't be a complete washout, just make sure to keep your News8000 First Alert Weather App handy to check when the rain is headed your way.
Looking Ahead... The chance of a few showers and thundershowers will linger into Father's Day, however, most of the area and the day look to be dry. Temperatures will be a bit cooler Sunday with highs in the low 70s.
Dry weather and sunshine will be with us Monday and for really the first half of the week. Temperatures will remain cooler than average. Highs on Monday will be in the low 70s, mid 70s for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Our next storm system will bring the chance of rain beginning Wednesday night and lasting through the end of the week and into the start of the new weekend. These showers and thunderstorms look to be isolated or scattered in nature. Highs will be in the mid 70s.
